"Faster, Staraptor, faster," I shout as me and my bird zoom over the ocean. I glance behind me, seeing am army of people in black suits riding Corvinights hot on my tail. I glance down at the PokéBall in my hand.

I went through too much work to get this, I think as I put the ball in my pocket. I'm not about to lose it so easily!

I scan the world around me, searching for a place to hide from my chasers. In the distance I see am island covered in trees. It's about 15 minutes away, but there would be plenty of places to hide.

"Think you can make it," I ask Staraptor, who just smirks and speeds up as it turns in the direction of the land. I look over my shoulder and see that the crowd is still following but is quickly falling behind.

Staraptor makes it in ten minutes, much quicker than I anticipated. "Just drop down here," I command. The bird nods and dives straight down, forcing me to clutch it tightly from how powerful the descent is. Despite the high speed, Staraptor manages to land with gentleness and grace.

"Great work," I tell it as I return it in a red beam of light. I look back at the ocean and see the people coming and the sun setting. I set off deeper into the forest, hoping to lose them in the cover of trees and the night.

I tried to keep details (like what's in the PokéBall and the main character's other five Pokémon) vague for others to create
