Every update makes things worse
Pokemon limited to just one set of moves? Incomprehensible decision, given having multiple moves is one of Unite's USPs.
But even worse is to lock your Pokemon into a moveset BEFORE THE MATCH STARTS.
I don't have the words to say how stupid this decision is. No ability to adapt to your team composition - or the opponents'. And for what? To stop someone choosing the wrong set? This has happened to me maybe 5 times in 15,000 battles.
What are they thinking?

I agree and made an upvote in the feedback center. I would appreciate your support in showing them how many of us do not want preset moves. You bring up another good point that I did not address in the upvote. Yes, we WANT choice in move paths for our Pokemon as well as the ability to choose during matches which and what order for our attacks/moves .

Locking the moves before the match starts helped me a lot. Why? Because on a phone, the buttons overlap. The moves appear suddenly and… you wanted to score ore use your battle item? NO. Here’s the move you didn’t want to play! It prevents the frustrating error that ruins your whole gameplay and… it wasn’t because you mis-clicked or didn’t pay attention. It was because the choice just suddenly appeared over the button you intended to use. This up-grade really is for phone users and it saves us a lot of occasional frustration.

I'm a mobile user with 6,000+ matches logged/played.
RARELY and I mean super-duper rarely did that occur at a bad time for me. Like only in a handful of matches, so that would be way less than 1% of matches played (of all the different stadiums too).
That's why I advocate for THE OPTION to allow in-match selection by adding a toggle switch in the gameplay settings so that the trainers, like me and many many others, can CHOOSE to have the ability to select moves during the match while trainers who of your mindset, can CHOOSE to keep moves limited to prematch selection only.
Then we would all have what we prefer. 🙂
