Devs, you can still save the game

(Disclaimer: I wanted to write an entire formal letter about this but I didn’t have the time nor motivation as I’m quite busy)

I love Pokemon.

I love MOBAs.

And I loved Pokemon Unite.

But then the devs just decided to make 3 errors that imho just killed a once beautiful game. But here’s how to fix them. I honestly would have quit the game already but Sirfetch’d is my favorite ‘mon so you got lucky this time.

  1. Falinks. Why is it so unplayable and bad. It’s hot garbage, which is a shame since I love the design. The devs seem to hate this thing as it has no new skins and thousands of nerfs, both direct and indirect. Just make its moves and basic attacks less clunky and faster cooldowns, make it faster, and change it so it doesn’t instalose to anything that is good against multiple Pokemon. All they would need to do is change the type of entity the lil’ guys at the back are.
  2. Mega Evolutions. Just nerf the livin’ heck out of them, they’re super op and incredibly toxic to the game.
  3. License Journeys. Just revert back to coins, LJs are what killed the game for even Spragels (aka the voice of your community). They make a Pokemon that would previously take 1 month to get take half a year to get. December 4th was the worst update ever and completely killed the playerbase (including me if Sirfetch’d wasn’t coming)

Finally, could you please just buff Meowscarada and Azumarill, I don’t really care for Azumarill but it’s really bad and I don’t think Pokemon should be this bad. Also Meows is just not very good and needs better basics in order to have any burst damage, can’t believe I wasted 10,000 coins on this thing. Finally, don’t mess up Sirfetch’d pls, it’s my favorite Pokemon and also my favorite playstyle in Unite. If it’s too broken or too awful than you might just lose a player. Anyways, I hope you fix your game so players such as myself can start enjoying it again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback, @BSDuck. We appreciate hearing from players like you and will make sure your points regarding Falinks, Mega Evolutions, License Journeys, and other balance concerns are passed along to the team.

Ummm, I know some trainers who are really good with Meowscarada and Falinks as the Pokemon are right now. I'm sure those trainers wouldn't mind a buff, but then other people will just complain about them being overpowered because those certain trainers are really good at using those Pokemon regardless. Sometimes it's just a skill issue.

The point of mega pokemon, was too have super strong pokemon... If you nerf them, they are no longer megas! And if you do nerf them more, in which case they end up with similar powers as a regular pokemon, you would need to allow them an additional held item because regular pokemon have three available held items whereas all megas, MewTwos and Zacian only have two spaces. (And Zacian isn't a mega and has been nerfed way too much). Sigh.

Dragonfly102024 I didn't flag your post. In fact, I agree with the fact that there are really good players with Fal and Meows, just that Falinks has a lot of matchups where the lil guys count as pokemon and therefore break secondary effects of moves I.E. espeed Luca and giga drain Venusaur, making Falinks a guaranteed loss against those 'mons. And Meows can be good in tue right hands, but it just needs a small damage buff as I always seem to miss the KO.

I agree with the first part, some player are still good with them. but when you look at Falinks, it has a guaranteed 1v1 loss against a decent chunk of the roster, as the lil guys count as individual Pokemon therefore lead to some scuffed interactions with espeed Luca, giga drain Venusaur, etc. I kinda disagree with the mega evo part tho, they have less flexibility and skill than regular mons, and while I get that they're meant to be strong, they just are too strong, and at the end of the day, they're just roster filler in my personal opinion (don't get me wrong, I love the designs, I just would rather have new, unique Pokemon) also, I was NOT the one who flagged you, only bot or innapropriate content should be flagged.

No worries @BSDuck 🙂! Thank you for conversing with me reasonably. It is much appreciated. And yes, differing opinions are a good thing at times, and can help the game grow and others to see things they may not have thought of. I do agree with much of what you said, small buff is a good thing. They did that with my ceruledge and that small buff made me say "wow! Big difference!" (And I already enjoyed using ceruledge). Wishing you the best.
