In Z-A it would be:
1 Pokémon per Wild Zone and one Pokémon per area (differently named areas, like different districts or places like the sewers, count as different areas. You can check a Pokémon's status screen after catching to see if the place you caught them counts as a different area). It has to be the first Pokémon you see. If it faints or escapes, no Pokémon in that area for you.
If a Pokémon faints, it's gone.
Nickname them all (go to the status screen, then press –).
No duplicate Pokémon. If you see a Fletchling as the first thing but you've already caught one, ignore it.
For Mable's request, register five Pokémon and then immediately release the ones that weren't the first Pokémon you found there. Same "catch, then release" thing goes for all forced catch Pokémon that aren't the first you found there.

I decided to send out Pudding. He took Lillipup's Bite, has 19/30 HP left, and I can now heal up Blueberry! I'm so sorry for trying to sacrifice you, Pudding, this is incredible work for a Lv. 10 against a Lv. 13.

I think I won't ever forget to check Gym Leader levels in a Nuzlocke ever again. I'm so horribly underleveled.

Blueberry is at 4/34 HP after Lillipup took off 21 HP from him with Tackle. Lillipup is also at red HP. This is a hard fight.
