Pokémon Story: lost Hope Chapter 2

As we approached the town center, we saw what looked like some sort of large gathering of people. Shalour is pretty tight knit, if there is a gathering this large either it is to celebrate or there is an emergency. From the looks of the crowd things don’t look very festive, whatever it is it cannot be good. I rush over to the crowd and see a large army of thugs. These thugs are wearing blue, unbuttoned suit jackets with a purple dress shirt. There could be over 100 of these thugs, and leading these thugs is a woman wearing a suit with these same colors with the exception that it is buttoned up with a red tie. She is easy in her mid 20’s with blue hair, she has her hair long with it going over her left shoulder and she fancies a smirk.
“We just ask to go to the Tower of Mastery, we mean no harm!” She said with a wide grin on her face.
“Then why the army of grunts then, Lieutenant Saffron?” Said Korrina, the leader of the Shalour gym. Korrina is a young girl who loves to roller skate, wears a white athletic dress with red accents and has long, blonde hair in a ponytail with some poking through her helmet. She is also in charge of protecting the Tower of Mastery from anyone wanting to cause problems. “I didn’t know that the Plasma Alliance did field trips, seems more like an invasion than a peaceful trip.”
“Don’t think of it as an invasion, think of it as a ‘temporary stay’. You wouldn’t mind that now, would you?”
“I assume even if I said no you won’t listen, huh?” Korrina said with a smile, Saffron’s grin widening. Korrina’s smile immediately turned to a frown “Final warning, get out of Shalour and never show your faces here again!” yelled Korrina.
“Alright boys, time to clean up.” As Saffron said the command the grunts began sending out their Pokémon. There was a mix of different types of Pokémon, Liepards, Dustoxes, Krookodiles, Toxicroaks, Scraftys, and their numbers were massive. Korrina sent out her Lucario and the rest of the townsfolk sent out their Pokémon, but the numbers were not in our favor, I decide to help out the odds and send out Krok and Delphy.
Hope was trying to come in and fight “Stay back Hope, we can handle this.”
This would not be a fair battle.
“Cmon people, let’s protect this town!” Korrina yelled before sending her Pokémon to fight, followed by the rest of the town’s Pokémon. The Plasma Alliance Pokémon followed suit and charged forward.
The battle was intense, with each Pokémon giving it their all. Krok and Delphy were giving it their best shot, I could tell. The Pokémon on our side were fighting hard but it was obvious that it was a losing battle, our numbers were going down faster than our opponents. Eventually Delphi was knocked out and I had to pull her back, with Krok still in the game but on his last limb.
As the battle progressed on for a bit a loud bang was heard.
“Alright boys” Saffron said with a grin “Hold one for one moment, I might as well do some negotiating.”
The Plasma Alliance grunts gave orders to their Pokémon and they pulled back, opening the stage for Lieutenant Saffron. Korrina saw her come out and ordered the town Pokémon to pull back as well.
“So Saffron, what’s your game here?”
“I am doing this out of mercy, Korrina” Said Saffron with an illusion of concern “I don’t want a Gym Leader like yourself to be forced to close her doors because her Pokémon are too injured to battle. That is why I have a proposition for you.”
“What is it?”
“Simple, you all give your Pokémon to us and we all go about our buisness. It is clear we can’t trust this town with Pokémon, so why not leave them to us.” Saffron said with a good laugh “Plus we would be taking care of the town, protecting it from any... unsavory individuals, right boys”
The Plasma Alliance grunts started getting a good laugh out of it.
“See, my boys will be more than willing to help you out. So Korrina, what do you say?”
Korrina didn’t give much thought to the offer.
“Saffron, get out of this town.”
Saffron did not get the answer she wanted and her mood quickly soured.
“Boys, leave nothing behind!” Saffron yelled.
With that the Plasma Alliance grunts sent their Pokémon back on the field and the battle resumed.
The battle was not looking good, our side was already thin before the pause. As the battle went on more Pokémon fainted and the final results of the battle were starting to show themselves. Eventually Krok got knocked out and I had to retreat him, this was not good. There were only a few Pokémon left on the field on our side with at least 20 on the Plasma Alliance side. Unlike earlier, Saffron did not give any order to stop. This was relentless and the last few Pokémon were being brought to their knees. I was lost for words, this town, what I thought could be a safe haven for Pokémon, was not safe anymore. I snapped out of it, I have to go back to the sanctuary! The Pokémon there would be too weak to fight on their own I have to get them out of there. As I tried to run away two Plasma Alliance grunts noticed me.
“Hey, a straggler!” One said
“Don’t run, we didn’t take your Pokémon yet!” Another said.
I tried to run but their Pokémon quickly blocked me off.
“Hey, if you wanna go you first have to pay respects to the victors of the battle!”
“Yeah, and the only way to pay proper respects to us is by handing over those Pokéballs.”
The two burst out in a cruel laughter. I didn’t know what to do, this was bad. I wanted to protect them but I was in no shape to do so. I reached for my Pokéballs but as I was taking them out Hope released a powerful beam of energy at the Pokémon behind me, instantly knocking them out.
“Wait, what!”
“Dude, what was that thing!”
“I don’t know but we better scram!”
The two grunts took their Pokémon and ran into the crowd. Hope then turned around and released a powerful beam of energy at the remaining Plasma Alliance Pokémon, knocking them out for good. Saffron was dumbstruck, she had just lost the battle. Korrina couldn’t believe what had just happened, she and the town had just succeeded in keeping the invaders out.
The Plasma Alliance grunts started running away, with Saffron following suit. Korrina decided to celebrate with the townsfolks of the close victory and helped with the Pokémon healing process. Hope did one final walk before collapsing of exhaustion, it seems he used up all of his energy. Snow ran to help his partner and took him back to the sanctuary to heal up.
…
“How did you fail against a small town of incompetent trainers!” Chairman Mathais said as he slammed his desk.
Lieutenant Saffron was debriefing Chairman Mathais about her last mission.
“I am sorry sir, they had a wild card at the end of the battle and caught me off guard.” Lieutenant Saffron said.
“Caught you off guard? Weren’t you the one that said this job would be easy, that a small little town would pose no threat against our numbers? What in the world could have caught you off guard when you were so confident in your victory!” Yelled Mathias.
“I am not sure myself sir, one of the townsfolks had a Pokémon I had never seen before.” Saffron said.
“That is why we have the Pokédex Saffron, so we can know about every Pokémon and plan accordingly.” Mathais said in disbelief “Even the grunts know that!”
“I know sir, but this Pokémon isn’t in any entry. I think this Pokémon is a rare and powerful Pokémon, it managed to take out 20 Pokémon easily.”
Mathias went from anger to curisosity “Lieutenant Saffron, it seems something good may have come out of this after all. Tell me, what did the Pokémon look like?”
“It was a black dog with a green muzzle and what seemed to be a green scarf with a red collar tag. It’s eyes were pitch white and it had a green paw.”
Mathias paced a bit before a memory came back to him. He went up to Saffron and grabbed her by the jacket “Saffron, are you sure you saw THAT Pokémon!” Mathais said in desperation.
“Yes sir.”
Mathias let go of Saffron, he was in shock.
“Saffron, let me tell you about why I went to Alola. According to the report I went there to establish a new chapter of Flare to establish a presence in Alola. That is only partially true.” Mathias paused for a moment “The truth is that I was searching for traces of a specific Pokémon. There is not much known about this Pokémon, all that is know about it is it’s name and the fact that it can overpower even the legendary duo of Pokémon found in Kalos.”
“Really sir?” Saffron said in shock “That small dog can really beat them?”
“No, not at its current strength. But even then it can wipe out armies of Pokémon, although it does not have enough power to maintain itself. It is too weak to keep attacking for too long, it is only at 10% of its power.”
“That was only 10%!”
“Yes, which brings me back to my trip at Alola. I had managed to find pieces, or cells, of the Pokémon, that when merged with it it becomes stronger. Theoretically I could create a new Pokémon like that that is stronger, it would be at 40% strength. Unfortunately we need a cell core, think of these cells as parts of yourself. Would any of these parts be able to function without your brain?”
“No sir”
“Exactly, which is why we need to capture that Pokémon. It has a core, that is why it was able to battle out there rather than be a pile of useless cells!”
Mathias was excited, this was an opportunity to continue his research and create a powerful weapon for himself.
“Sir, if I may ask what is the name of this Pokémon.”
Mathias thought for a bit “It has a few names, Team Flare Research Subject 26, Squishy... What a ridiculous name!” Mathais said with disgust “But it’s true name, which the people of old had called it, is Zygarde.”

How long did it take you to write this?

With breaks to focus on other things, probably less than a day. I can be a quick writer when I am in the mood but honestly I neglected this. Focus on writing a certain reboot took away my attention from this, already wrote three chapters for it although I need to revise it to make it better for this platform.

I'm basically the same way. My ADHD makes it so if I just have what I want in what i'm writing in my head, I can just sit down and write it in what feels like minutes. The hardest part is coming up with what to write. Anyway, this is an amazing story and you did a great job.
