I'm gonna talk about my first shiny on my current PoGo account. I started playing one day before the Chansey Community Day which I didn't even know was happening and my first shiny was also my first hatch—it was a Happiny from the Chansey Community Day! I still have her and I love her very much.

Please don't rub it in my face. Chandelure is my 3rd favorite Pokémon and I've always wanted a shiny of it in PoGo. Alas, I started playing the game again in February 2024, so I missed out on the Litwick Community Day. But every single event that featured Litwick, Halloween events, GO Fest 2024, GO Tour Unova, and even just seasons where it regularly spawns, I miserably failed to get a shiny Litwick. And seeing shiny Chandelure in gyms brings out my burning jealousy.

My first Shiny was a full-odds Hoppip in Scarlet! As for other games:
Sword: (Shiny Charm) Pelipper
Legends: Arceus: (full odds) Roselia
GO: Caterpie (or Bidoof, I don't remember which came first)
Quest: JigglypuffI've only failed a couple of Shinies. First, a Tentacool that was too far away from me in Scarlet. I was using the Synchro Machine, so I had no chance of getting it. And just yesterday, I failed a Shiny Bidoof in Legends: Arceus. It was from a Mass Outbreak (or so I thought), so I returned to my save before starting the outbreak when it ran away. I got the first one, but the second one didn't appear. Turned out it just naturally spawned next to the outbreak.
Don't make the same mistake I did. Even if you think it's from an outbreak, it doesn't hurt to save the moment you hear the sparkle. For all you know, it could be, say, a Starly that's just off-camera, and about to flee.
