Hybrid Decks

Currently, it’s very difficult to build viable hybrid decks because the automatic energy system favors single-type energy decks, giving them a clear advantage. This makes it challenging to explore more diverse strategies.

To resolve this, I suggest an improvement: when players choose multiple energy types, the system alternates between the selected types each turn.

What do you think? Would this change make hybrid decks more viable and encourage diverse strategies?

Agreed! Hybrid decks are great, but the almost COMPLETELY rng based, during one battle i tried with a hybrid i got only one type of energy until almost round 15 when i got the second type energy just to lose without being able to attack

Only viable hybrid deck right now is the classic x type + normal.

What I think is that the game just released weeks ago… give it time to release new sets with more trainers and more Pokemon… this is just the beginning, also don't forget the tool cards are coming soon, that will boost a lot of decks/Pokemon.

My thoughts is allowing us to pick how likely each energy shows up, for example: I'm building a mainly grass deck however i want to add a fighting and a dark Pokémon but only there energy once or twice threw out the match.
in base tcg you would do this by only adding 1 or 2 energy of that type to the deck, here we could have 2 options:
1st. Percent Sliders that allow us to adjust the frequency of each energy and how often they show up.
2nd. 3 pre set frequencies most likely to show up, sometimes to show up and least likely to show up.

i think it adds the next level of strategy for being able to use multiple types of pokemon for a potentially stronger deck. also keeping an eye on an enemies next energy when they have multiple types can allow for more strategies in your play.. most effective combined deck i have found so far is water/electric using 2 dragonite full setups. pretty much always have one on the bench being built so there is always a place for 1 of the 2 energy available. im still new to playing so im sure there are more decks and ways to be succesful. water/electric is just one ive found thats decently easy to operate.

I feel bad when my opponent cant use their pokemon bcs their energy keeps coming up as incorrect. for them to use their attacks. I also think that doing anything more than 2 types of energy is a dumb idea unless youre running a heavy a star type deck. More pokemon as the time goes on may make dual type decks more viable but unless theres some specific game changes and rule changes they will never compare to a straight 1 type deck build.

The best suggestion I can come up with is simply allowing a dual type deck to have 2 energy pools. Either way you can only choose 1 energy per turn so dual type decks dont even have any real advantages other than maybe you can save yourself from a deck that has your weakness.

Since building a deck is limited to 20 cards at best a functional deck may only be able to handle 2 strong different types of pokemon at once. Meanwhile 1 type decks can focus on thiers. With the wrong build ratio in a deck or some bad luck or bad play strategy a deck with a weakness to their opponent can still win.

Currently the best working dual type deck is the Dragonite build deck. With the only pokemon that actually requires 2 different types of energy.

Personally the no.1 reason I want a multi type deck is to play Eevee evolution deck…
