Yeah! Just like they did Diamond and Pearl with Arceus! And all the new Mega X and Y Pokemon from the DLC could be game specific!

They should be making sequels and expansions rather than remaking the same old game, just a pure remake is lazy.

I don't think that is inherently true, but it may well be true were Game Freak to remake an older game with their present design and business philosophies.

A remake can be a great opportunity to expand upon the original and utilise modern hardware to achieve what was not possible in the original release, to address problems with the original work (bugs, plot holes, poor performance and mechanics, etc.), and to introduce entirely new ideas and mechanics that may benefit it.

It can also introduce older games to a new audience that was too young for the original and may not otherwise be able to access it.

I would argue that Heart Gold and Soul Silver are a perfect demonstration of this principle. They were faithful to the originals, including all the same content, while building onto them and incorporating new mechanics and features.

So yes, while I would not like Game Freak today to remake some of the older games, in principle there is no reason a remake couldn't enhance the original whilst remaining faithful to it.

Perhaps it felt obvious to many long term Pokémon fans that Rose was the villain the second they laid eyes on him is because large corporations and organisations being evil is a trope Game Freak loves. He wasn't a Professor (who apparently can't be evil in game continuity) and Team Yell were too farcical and more nuisances than villains, so he was the only one to possibly fill the role.

Only recently have they tried to subvert this, to varying degrees of success, with Team Skull in SM and Team Star in SV. Team Yell just felt like an attempt to pull the Skull subversion again but significantly worse.

So there is a reason that everyone is assuming the corporation in Z-A will be villains while knowing nothing about them. It epitomises GF's writing.

As for SwSh being your first Pokémon game, I don't agree with the common assumption that everyone's first Pokémon game is their favourite. I started with Red and Blue in the 90s after all, yet my favourite is Black & White. But I do think that your first game will always be special to you and play a large role in how you define and judge a Pokémon game.

Again, you like what you like; me pointing out flaws in a game in no way prohibits you from enjoying it. Many of my favourite games are heavily flawed, and I openly acknowledge that, but I still enjoy them.

However, I would suggest that you go back and try some of the earlier games, if you haven't already. Not only will it inform your perspective on the series, you may find one or more of them you really enjoy, perhaps more than SwSh.

Technically Crystal is up next for a remake, as mentioned in let's Go Pikachu/Eevee.

It could very well do that like with their previous remakes that took all of the improvements from the previous series and implemented it in the remake with their in-house remakes. These I would say are truly remade, rather than making a 1:1 experience they make it a better experience with more content than the previous title. They could also outsource the remake and make it exactly like the old title with maybe a few small improvements to modernize it a bit with BD/SP, as I would call a pure remake. Pure in the sense that it really doesn't change much and tries to be as accurate to the source material as possible and not deviate at all, as in if you did a 1:1 comparison between the old and the new title you would think it is just a graphical remaster or something.

you should consider buying a working old system and the older game. I play a game called Dark Souls Remaster and i feel the updated graphics(though attractive) make the game a bit too jolly, if you catch my drift. If you want the best of the essence of a game don't hope for a remake to do it.

though I can understand budgeting may be a problem if you go to such great lengths. It is the most unsolvable problem.
