I will revive this post saying that maybe the coding has a rule to not repeat a number of hands before.
This game doesn't feel like a true rng, and i think this is because they input rules that doesn't exist in a true rng to make the user "feel" like every match isn' the same, but you can have the same hand and a different match.

Another revival. RNG is still trash and a piss poor representation of IRLRNG. For anyone reading this, do not doubt your deck even if brick out 50 games in a row. If anything, take that as a sign you're going to destroy people because yes, the game knows damn good and well what you have and YES it's blocking you from doing that so you don't hit Arceus rank after winning 400 games in a row in less than a day.

@Radical_Reptar funny i was going to post on this too. Seeing the op is almost 3yrs old. But i agree an always come on here to keep complaining about the rng an how trash it is.
Its to the point now , that it makes me not want to play. An i dont. Sometimes i try a few matches, but majority of the time i dont even make it that far. I get so disgusted when it keeps dealing the same cards to me.
Definitely needs to be changed or something. Its so ridiculous at times. An of course theres never any response to what i say or tickets i submit.

I used to complain about the randomness of decks and then I saw Piper Lepine's last top 8 match at Worlds where all of her Ghodenglo EXs were prized.
No amount of coin flips, shuffling or anything could have helped her.
Statistics were not on her side.
As far as game AI…. well have you every played the game's "AI" (or as my kids call it AL) in the TEST DECK in deck building? There is none. It has no idea what deck you are playing or even what card you have in the active spot or bench. It just plays every card it can, attaches energy to pokemon that don't need it and random trainer and supporter cards that make no sense for the deck it is playing. It's like playing my dog, if my dog could read. So there is no way that the AI can know what cards you need when randomizing your deck. And the AI doesn't have adaptive learning in this game.

@AliceEveryDay i hope you dont really believe that. Playing a testing bot with probably no difficulty setting , that is programmed just to play cards dealt that can be played is not a good example. Thats all its there to do, play cards an not sit idle.
I doubt they would make a playable AI , becuz players would always feel cheated and probably would be lol.
And issue isnt about AI, nobody is playing against AI. You said it yourself, the randomness of cards being dealt. Its programmed to deal out the cards by random selection. But it doesnt. When things happen repeatedly it becomes not so random. Yes, everyone gets bad hands dealt, or bad situations like main cards being prized.
But play long enough an you start noticing a pattern. Things that players have talked about an complained about.

Just like this! Playing a deck i built with all basic pokemon, 3 matches in a row i take mulligans! One match it was 3! 3 times it shuffled through my deck an didnt get a single pokemon...come on. Then its 1 pokemon to start with, an not one that i want in active. Usually its monkidori. Then cards im dealt, night stretcher, super rod, stadium, penny. 3 matches being dealt these cards. But one it was 2 night stretchers or 2 stadiums. An these are cards i have 1 maybe 2 copies of.
Then i get an iono an use it to reshuffle an get a new hand. You want to know what i got dealt?? The same exact cards but 1 different.
Dont get me wrong, majority of the time i still end up pulling the win, but theres alot of times im just sitting watching my team get picked off while every turn goes by an i get dealt the same cards over an over.
Even though i can still stay in the match an pull off a win, i laugh to myself as i look an see its my 7th or 8th turn an i still havent pulled a trainer card. Even though theres more of them , then anything else.
Im not saying its cheating or the AI is against me. Im saying that whatever is used to deal the cards seems to be weighted to draw these cards somehow. This was just today that im giving an example. But this is what happens daily. Not just to me. I seem to be one of the few that post on forums.
