Crystal vs gold and silver.
so, I’ve been wanting to play the retro Pokemon titles on game boy. I want to play gen 2, but idk if crystal is worth it over the other games, ( I like my older games physical) and crystal is like 200… gold and silver seem to have lower prices. Also considering gen 1 Any responses are helpful

Crystal has more content and offers the option of a female protagonist, so I would say it is the better version, but it is not as though you are entirely missing out on the gen 2 experience if you play Gold or Silver.
I would generally say that Heart Gold and Soul Silver offer the best Johto experience, not only delivering the original experience and Crystal content, but far more beyond that. Unless you are dead set on the GBC versions, which I will say have a charm all their own and are worth playing, I recommend HGSS.

I personally like Silver or Crystal. Crystal because it is the updated version of the games or silver because I personally like the version exclusives better

I would prefer not to get hgss bc of the game prices. Idk why they are so expensive
