Like many other similar games it's implemented like that to incentivize players to spend more real money in the game... so it will not change for sure.

Getting duplicates is not really an issue. Poorly designed trade system is the real issue here.
As mentioned by DoubleCure, it might be intentional to force players to purchase lot of gold to open over hundred boosters just to get all 1-4 diamond rarity cards, and then few hundreds more if they want to collect every full artwork card.

Might be intentional… No, it is intentional. As if DeNA doesn’t know exactly what they’re doing.
DeNA has made the game not enjoyable at this point. The game has been out nearly 8 months and we’ve gotten precisely 0 QOL upgrades. Trading sucks. Ranked sucks. The quality of Wonder Picks has decreased significantly to the point I have to force myself to do one solely because the stamina is maxed out. Now, packs suck too. Duplicate after duplicate. Nothing higher than a BS 1-star full art. Every change thus far has been for the worse. Things like dark mode, a toggle for animations, the absurd number of screens, menus, and taps, ability to report players, shortened countdown clock when a player leaves the app, expanding decks—things the community has been extremely vocal about since day one—haven’t been addressed at all. Thanks a lot, DeNA. You have lived up to your reputation; dare I say, you’ve earned it…0
