Balance Feedback

The newer cards are way too strong. Specifically the rare candies. Why on Earth are they allowed in Standard decks? The battle pass is pumping these cards into people's hands and there's even loading text that advertises it like it isn't super over powered. Completely skipping stage 1 gives people extremely powerful pokemon on like turn 2. Plus it's an item, so they can use as many as they like. Please at least make them only for expanded deck. Please!

The card is about to become 15 years old in september (I believe), so the card is not new at all, and the card was even more powerful back in the day, making it so that you could use it on your first turn or on a mon that was just put into play. The card was also legal on the past format, so it's not like this one is the card is new to the format either. Besides, I fail to see how speeding up Stage-2 mons onto play is somehow more broken than having big Basic mons that are also "extremely" powerful. If anything, having Rare Candy in the format helps with balance for Stage-2 cards so that they can be up to speed with Stage-1 cards like VMax and VStar mons.

The devs have no control over what cards are printed or the rules of the game.

Sorry, I posted this after a while of mounting frustration with the game’s glitches. What I meant to say was in previous packs, like Pokémon Go, they felt like a much rarer card. With the combined new mechanics of the battle pass and the ability to exchange points for missing cards, it feels like everyone who relies on Evolution Pokémon has to have it. If you don’t you just kinda lose. Even I have had to give into this monster because I just kept getting demolished by it. The second I did, I was able to win games easily. (I know devs don’t control balance. I think this card was put in to help counter balance V-spammers. I appreciate that. I just think some of the newer mechanics weren’t thought through.)

Rare Candy isn't a new card. It's been around for well over a decade and has been key in almost every Stage 2 deck since the first printing. I also don't understand why you'd consider it overpowered unless you're choosing not to use it and just want everyone else to do the same. You're basically saying, "This card should be banned because I don't want to use it," which is silly.

Are you just against the idea of staple cards or what?

PS: Everyone already had 4 copies of it from the starter decks. The only reason you're seeing it more now is because there's a popular Stage 2 deck now when there wasn't before.

To be fair here Rare Candy was “rarer” in the sense that there weren’t many Stage 2 Pokemon worth running in the SWSH-CRZ format outside of the Inteleon engine (thanks in part due to Drizzile SWSH’s Shady Dealings Ability), you were better off running Big Basics or Stage 1 Pokemon in the form of Pokemon VMAX or VSTAR.

But now? We have Gardevoir ex and even then you’re still going to run 4 Kirlia SIT for its Refinement Ability, most people just run 2 Rare Candies to help boost the consistency of getting Gardevoir ex into play.
