I wouldn't know since I haven't gotten one yet but I would wager that with 2020 Ampere hardware(with a few 2022 Lovelace enhancements) would do wonders compared to the 2015 Maxwell hardware in the original Switch.

People do seem to be reporting better performance on the Switch 2, but I do not intend to buy one to confirm it for myself.

Of course, the performance issues are just one of SV's many crippling problems. It is disappointing that they were never properly fixed on the S1, and you shouldn't have to buy new hardware to have the game function properly (or better anyway). It will also do nothing to address the game's core design.

SV certainly could have used more time for optimization but at some point, you got to point the finger at Nintendo for waiting as long as they did to update the Hardware. They CHOSE to use Maxwell as opposed to Pascal on the first Switch, just as they chose to use Ampere when they could have done full Lovelace instead on the 2nd one. Game Dev's can only do so much on the optimization end and consequently a game's performance will largely be based on the Hardware inside and the Switch 1 was pushed to its limits with BotW back when it first launched. TotK was their opportunity to update it(and Switch 2 was ready back then too) but Nintendo chose to wait 2+ years to release it. That is why BotW and TotK are getting Switch 2 variants since the buffed Hardware can truly show what these games are capable of. The fact SV is getting a Switch 2 update also means something.
