Mega or gigantamax

Mega is cool but honestly unnecessary, beat the 3DS games without it (or Z-moves), and unfortunately started the gimmick trend.

That is an unfortunate aspect. These gimmicks are often overpowered, so I usually end up avoiding using them to make it more challenging.

I'm inclined to roll with neither because GMax buffs the HP of the target Pokemon by a massive amount. That makes KO'ing them a royal pain for the short duration its up and not to mention the broken mechanics of certain moves. Mega Evolution is simply a base stat boost that may include a Type change, an Ability change, or both. In addition, Mega Evolution makes certain Pokémon that would otherwise be an afterthought(Mawile as an example) and makes it somewhat viable. The problem is that everyone feels that X Pokémon should have a Mega form and that Pokemon that didn't NEED a Mega(like starters and Legendaries), ended up getting the bulk of them. So out of all the gimmicks so far, I actually like Gen 9's version the most since it takes Typing and adds another layer and depth to it by either enhancing STAB or granting another STAB while simultaneously changing Defense mechanics. Furthermore, ALL Pokémon benefit as opposed to just a select few.

Megas look cooler.

OP be honest did you just make this post to get people to talk about mega evolution be honest because like I do not see a world where people believe dynamax is better. as badly designed it was in X/Y, it's still much more preferable to Dynamax Gameplay wise. it seems legends za will give megas the well needed nerf they need to make them a great mechanic but dynamax is always gonna be op. it's like Mega evolution but for every Pokemon and boosts their Defense Too. There's a Reason as to way the whole mechanic was banned in Smogon and the VGC community was split between the Dynamax and no Dynamax Modes it was just that overpowered. aleast there were some bad mega evolutions and some countries (like How Xerneas Beats Mega Ray) dynamax was the definitive Win button lol.
