Too many status effects

So I recently played a match against a deck that was using Volcanion and Komala to burn and sleep opponents pokemon. I don't know if you would call this a bug but the coin flips for the status check up seems to eat into your turn time and by the time I was able to do my first action the timeout time was already counting down and it passed my turn before I could fully think about what my next move was.
