Ideas for Improving Trading System – 30-Day Cooldown between Friends, Trade Stamina Removal, Promo Trading & Premium Card Visibility

    Hey everyone,

I wanted to share some ideas to improve the trading system and make it fairer, more flexible, and more enjoyable for all players. Right now, trading has a few issues, including multi-account abuse, overly restrictive trade limits, missing promo cards and changing premium cards visibility.

    Main suggestions:

    1. Introduce a 30-day cooldown per trade partner (to prevent multi-account abuse).

    2. Remove the one-trade-a-day limit (trade stamina) so players can trade more freely.

    3. Allow promo cards to be traded & separate them from premium cards.

    4. Fix premium card visibility and allow premium-to-premium trades.

    1. 30-Day Cooldown Per Trade Partner (To Prevent Multi-Account Abuse)

Right now, some players create multiple accounts to farm free packs and transfer all their best cards to their main account. This gives them an unfair advantage over players who only have one account.

    Solution:

    • After you trade with someone, you can’t trade with them again for 30 days.

    • You can still trade as many times as you want with different people each time.

    Pros:

Slows down multi-account farming – alt accounts can’t constantly send cards to one main account.

Encourages a bigger trading network – players will trade with new people instead of the same few accounts.

    Cons:

Friends who trade regularly would be affected, but I think it’s a fair trade-off to keep things balanced. Plus, it encourages players to meet and trade with new people instead of relying on the same person.

    2. Remove the One-Trade-a-Day Limit (If Cooldown Is Added)

Right now, you can only make one trade per day, which feels unnecessarily restrictive. If the 30-day cooldown per person is added, there’s no reason to limit trading further.

    Solution:

Remove trade stamina so players can trade as much as they want per day with different people.

    Pros:

Trading should be a core feature, not a restriction. The Pokémon TCG is built around trading, so the digital version shouldn’t feel artificially limited.

Still prevents multi-account abuse. The 30-day cooldown already blocks alt accounts from constantly transferring cards.

    Cons:

Could make some rare cards more accessible – removing the daily trade limit means rare cards might become slightly easier to obtain. However, rarity is still controlled by pack drop rates, and this change would make trading feel more like a true TCG experience rather than an artificially limited system.

    3. Allow Promo Cards to Be Traded & Separate Them From Premium Cards

Right now, promo cards can’t be traded, which feels unfair—especially for day 1 players who might have missed one due to Wonder Pick luck.

    Solution:

Allow promo cards to be tradeable, but not premium-exclusive cards.

Separate ‘Promo’ and ‘Premium’ into two different categories so premium cards don’t feel like a “missed-out” feature.

    Pros:

Fairer for long-term players – if you earned a promo card (but missed one), you should be able to trade for it.

Doesn’t flood the market – promo cards are still rare, but at least players have a chance to get them.

    4. Fix Premium Card Visibility & Allow Premium-to-Premium Trades

Another issue is how premium cards appear in our collections—players who didn’t buy them see blank spots, making it feel like they “missed out” just for not paying. Also, premium cards can’t be traded, even for other premium cards.

    Solution:

Separate Premium cards into their own category, not under Promo cards. Remove blank spots for missed premium cards so players who didn’t buy them don’t see them & feel they missed out for not paying.

Allow premium-to-premium trades (e.g., you can swap one premium card for another).

    • Make premium cards more exciting by giving them a unique holo design that makes them feel special compared to regular cards.

    Pros:

Stops unnecessary FOMO – players shouldn’t see blanks in their collection because they didn’t pay.

Gives premium users more flexibility – if you paid for a premium card, you should at least be able to trade it for another premium card.

Makes premium cards feel more valuable – adding a unique holo design makes them feel more special and worth collecting.

I know this is a long shot, but if the devs actually use this idea, I wouldn’t say no to a little support—whether that’s in-game currency or even real help. I’m just a young player dealing with depression, anxiety, c-ptsd, so any kind of support would mean a lot. But no pressure, just thought I’d ask!

Let me know what you think! Would this help balance the trading system? Or make it worse?

You still haven't understood anything we're asking for... We want to be able to swap all the cards, without any exchange resources, but with a cooldown.

    🔸️= 0 min

    🔸️🔸️=0 min

    🔸️🔸️🔸️= 6h

    🔸️🔸️🔸️🔸️= 1d

    ⭐️ = 12h

    ⭐️⭐️= 2d

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️= 4d

    👑 = 1 week

And then, how did it end in the autumn of 2025 ? What's that joke again ? You've made billions of dollars, you keep making them every week. Release this update at the end of April. Then we want in-game reactions in battles, with emojis like this.

    😃😭😡👍🏻

We also want to be able to record the fights so we can review and download them. We want a search exchange system like the GTS in Pokémon RPG.

I am glad these changes will be made but at the same time I'm sad because I sacrificed so many cards for these trading tokens and it seems I did that for nothing. But still, new system seems to be better. And shinedust will finally have more purpose!

Allowing us to trade promos will be a huge step forward, and I'm not against giving shinedust more usefulness. However, I believe the concept of tokens to be ridiculous.

People are already forced to trade cards of equal values to each other. I believe shinedust should be used as a currency. Cards of all rarities should be worth different shinedust amounts, and people should be able to trade multiple cards at once as long as the value is equal on both sides (for example, one 3 star immersive Dialga for four 4 diamonds EX cards plus 8000 dust).

I understand not allowing us to trade 3 star cards and above is meant to block a real life economy to jump out of it, but it really impacts players who have managed to get more than two of those highest rarities and would love to trade them for another one.

    game launch: ~oct 30th 2024

    Trading implemented: ~jan 29th 2025

thats 3 months. Obviously the trade feature in it entirety likely took more than 3 months to develop so well call it 5 months from concept to implementation.

As someone else already stated, the end of autumn is december 21st.
Thats, at the time of writing, over 9months away.

    The changes being made are:
    - removing a currency
    - creating —Not a WishList— but a “heres what i have to trade” function
    - converting trade tokens to shiendust

In no reality should this take 9months to implement…

looking at this from a programatic standpoint, your commenting out some code, and telling an integer and a sprite to read from something that already exists… thats… not even an hour to do that… thats a 10 minute task TOPS and thats assuming your taking a bathroom break in that 10mins.

Next you create a button that looks for an integer, adds it to another, then 0s out the first integer… literally 1 minute task.

The only one of these things that should take any amount of time is the display of what you have to trade, but even that can repurpose the public display boards.

These changes could have been implemented yesterday. Yalls developers sound like a coffee club

While this is great news, the part I'd like some clarification about is:

"A feature will be added that allows you to share cards you’re interested in trading for via the in-game trading function."

This seems like you'd be able to display what you are Looking For, but it's not clear on whether you'd also be able to display cards that you have For Trade. A brief look at Discord's trade chat, and you'd see that people have to mention both LF (looking for) and FT (for trade). This needs to be viewable from a player's profile screen. That way you go to: Friends list > Select friend > Wishlist & For Trade

My interpretation of this is that it will function as a “For Trade”, and not a “Looking For” feature. Though I agree, clearer wording would have been nice, as that can easily be interpreted either way.

I do think this is getting a little bit ridiculous with the requirement of trade tokens.

I think they need to be abolished.

I want to be able to complete a set. I understand 1 star, 2 star & above are too rare, but I can’t even trade for diamond cards freely.

I should be able to collect diamond cards without worrying about tokens so that I can collect all the cards for a set, and compete in the meta (ranked battles).

Especially because there are more card expansions being added regularly, now the Shining Revelry.

Players should be able to complete diamond sets of these cards through trading. No tokens. No stardust. No stamina required. Only 30 day cooldown with the same player.

For rarity of 1 star and above, same concept, but yes, stardust is fair enough.

    Please consider this.

    Edit:

Sorry. I don’t mean to spam. I just feel a bit disappointed because now Ranked matches are out. We have new Step Up battles. All of this is very exciting. But I just wish we could trade for diamond cards freely because I would love to participate in the meta.

Will there ever be place in the trading screens where you can say what you are seeking? I can’t see any point otherwise.
