Scam Traders

So you are using Link Trade on your Pokémon game, and you are trying to trade a Pokémon to get it to evolve, right? A random person offers a random Pokémon to give you in exchange for your Dubious Disc Porygon2. When you try trading back, they close Link Trade, and the Porygon-Z you deserved is gone forever. If you encountered this, that means you were trading with a SCAM TRADER. Scam traders are constantly stealing your Pokémon so you can cry about the Pokémon they kidnapped. Here’s some tips for avoiding scam traders.
- If they offer a shiny immediately, or a legendary Pokémon you want, close Link Trade immediately.
- If they are offering a Pokémon, but keep going back to selection to offer it again, leave.
Mostly, they leave without trading at all, but it still shows they’re scammers. Tell me if you encountered one before.

There is a system in place to prevent this. Use the link code with the Pokedex numbers of the Pokemon you have and the one you want in numerical order: 0906 0909, 0906 0912, and 0909 0912 for the Paldea starters, 1007 1008 for the Paldea Box Art legends, 0233 0233 for Porygon2, etc. Just make sure trade evolutions that require a held item have them equipped.

I'm no scam trader fortunately. I only have legit pokemon and have no interest in scamming people. I just want to make a good clean wholesome trade for the shinies I'm looking for.

I can't give up my genuine Shiny Dragonair, unfortunately.

No. I got it early on in my new Shield game I started in December, and I still only have 2 badges in that game but my main focus is to do Dynamax Adventures instead like I used to. They bring me back and it's just fun. And seeing the shiny Dragonair in the "choose the Pokémon you'd like to keep" made me quite happy. What's with me and shiny luck? I don't think I have a shiny charm or anything. But I love my shiny Dragonair. I used to have a hacked shiny Dragonite in my old game but I transferred it with all the other hacked Pokémon I had, but this Dragonair is of course genuine.

best to outsmart those scammers by denying them what they want.
