Pokémon types that never were?

An infamous part of Pokémon is the glitch Missing No, ultimately one of the many bugs from gen one but it is still talked about today due to the mystery and fear it invoked in players as merely catching it would turn your save file's world into an unrecognizable pile of digital sludge. Turning Pokémon and trainers alike into horrific, mangled abominations even if it was only let of a Pokeball.

But looking beneath the glitchy appearance, something both small and massive lies in wait.

Missingno's type.

If you check what type Missingno is gen one, you can find out that it's type is bizarrely Bird/Normal. It is presumably a hangover from when gen one was being developed. But it shows us something interesting; that the Flying type was once called the Bird type. This then got me thinking, what if there were other Pokémon type that never made it beyond a concept?

It is an inevitable fact that content will be cut from games, meaning that at least a few Pokémon types have had to go over the nearly 30 years that franchise has been around for. It could be that the idea of a light type was a real thing one day but was eventually cut? And without even going into the Pokémon TCG types, where types have been introduced and then cut; meaning you can only imagine some of the types pitched.

But that's where our imagination can come in and play for a bit. In the comments below, I want to see some of your best ideas for types that may have never existed. It can be detailed with type weaknesses and strengths or it can be simple with only a name. But, most importantly, have some fun!

Feel free to give your ideas for Pokémon types that never were in the comments!

I read into missingno and it seems there was a potential pre-evolution for Kangaskhan, which is weird that one doesn't exist in the first place.

I have a document on what sound type could be like:

    Sound beats Steel and Fire.

Sound resists Steel but not Fire.

Bug, Dragon, Fighting, and Ice beat Sound.

Sound is poor against Bug and Ice.

    Sound cannot touch Fighting
