I even tried making a Gengar ex deck just for fun but it’s just too inconsistent and you can’t set up enough Gengars to do much damage with the ability, and anyway Charizard wallops it because it barely ever attaches energy from hand.

@mthverse Mimikyu (Paldea Evolved 97/193) has a Safeguard Ability that says "Prevent all damage done to this Pokémon by attacks from your opponent’s Pokémon ex and Pokémon V." However, Mimikyu can't protect itself from Pokémon-GX (including Tag Teams), Special Conditions or any other effects of attacks done to it. (Damage isn't an effect.)

I feel like it needs less health because seventy can survive most non rule box basics and a lot of stage 1s. I like the idea of it being like shedninga but for the card game in a different sense than type

Then it wouldn't matter very much because little basics could kill it easily. It's pretty balanced as it is, in my opinion.

Honestly I can understand your frustrations... but, as a trainer you must learn to adapt and overcome. There are many tactics and pokemon that still take out mimikyu with ease. Keep your head up!

this is why you don't run a deck with just EX or V pokemon

Ex and V pokemon are meant to be early or late game sweepers, but if you run only Ex or V pokemon…you risk running into a player who can shut them down

    IE: mimikyu's safegaurd

Safeguard renders Mimikyu invincible to EX or V pokemon (dark terra charizard users' tears are delicious)…however if you have normal pokemon or a Vstar pokemon, Mimikyu can be handled easily, also status ailments can still affect it

Mimikyu is tricky but not invincible and definitely not game breaking, like the new Budew who has a free attack that blocks items…you have to find a work around
