Mismanaged Trading System
It deeply saddens me that a game revolving around collecting, playing and trading my childhood Pokemon card games has such a horrendous trading system.
It doesn’t help the 2 main factions of player base:
- F2P players would benefit from a trading system where they can complete a competitive deck via trading the missing one or two 3 diamond cards or 4 diamond cards. Yet, with the exceptionally expensive cost of burning extra cards in order to trade would mean that F2P players would not be able to do so. If we had so many extra 4 diamond cards to burn, chances are we already have a competitive deck without needing to trade for them.
- Paying players would benefit from a trading system where they can complete their collection of 2 star, 3 star and crown cards. With the current trading limitations, they are only able to trade rarities below that. As they have already spent money, there is high chance that they do not require trading for anything else below than 2 stars, which completely defeats the purpose of trading too.
Both examples show how the trading system is disappointing to say the least. Seems like the focus of “Pokemon Trading Card Game” has basically lost its meaning, rather more akin to “Pokemon Card Game”.

Absolutely this! I've been paying for the premium pass until now, but it's so discouraging to finally get the ability to trade, only to realize that doing so would obliterate our collections—or that we can't even trade at all because our friends or family aren't as invested in the game as we are.

Agree waking up this morning to try and trade for 1 ex card I needed to complete the base set not looking to complete the art cards just the base and it would cost 500 tokens. That's insane. The game has lost its luster.
