...I'm Bored.
I feel like this discussion has been a long time coming, and I'm finally gonna get it all out today.
Like the title says, I'm bored.
I feel like these forums have kind of dissolved from what they used to be. Nobody is having good discussions anymore. It's just people shouting each other down about conceding matches too early, and I don't wanna take part in that. It was more exciting even arguing with FlyPupKai, and that's really saying something, because that entire situation was a disaster. And by no means am I saying that I want FlyPupKai back. I just think that nobody is having good debates anymore.
We need some kind of structured activity, like the gym challenge story we had going. I think @MajorBrendan was the one who put it to an end when they didn't write their part. Can't we work on reviving that? Maybe doing something new? Maybe some of the TCG players— myself included— could put together something about decks and the meta that would be fun.
Anyway, I just wanted to say all this, because I really feel like the forums have been losing their magic lately.

so are you saying that @Hey_PIKMIN may have been right saying that the "iconic post" never happen, and perhaps now in 2025 we have entered a "darker age of posting" where the ends justify the means, and we have to all collectively work together and debate from both sides of the system to restore the forums to its former glory?
because i might agree with that arc if that's what you're saying. i think the switch 2 and upcoming pokemon news will be sure to turn everything around though.

It's a smaller forum. Fewer minds coming up with discussion and activity is bound to lead to less activity and fewer interesting threads.
Feel free to generate your own discussion or come up with your own activity, but I would caution you against trying to force engagement for its own sake.
We are also in a bit of a lull period for Pokémon content. The DLC for the current game has been released and we are waiting for something new to happen in the series, which will likely be the next Z-A announcement (probably on Pokémon Day) followed by the release of the game (or demo, if there is one).

From what I've heard the fun in the forums started disappearing around the same time I joined, which was disappointing

I will agree with you, the fun has drained out. 2 years ago when I first joined I was exited to see if there was any new posts, but now its just "Meh". Don't tell me your leaving though…….

The main issue is people are frustrated because some of the main Pokemon games are badly managed so they put their insatisfaction in forums and other platforms. If they did a better job with the games and how they address the community people here would be nicer and have more interesting things to say... so I blame mainly TCG Live and Unite managment teams for the forum state.

I agree with this. The video games are the heart of the franchise, and the TCG is one of its larger branches. If both have issues, people are going to have little to discuss beyond their dissatisfaction.
I really hope the delays on Z-A have been used productively to address some of the issues with the main series, and not a merely a grim necessity to let the developers scrape by, because another buggy, glitchy, bare-bones product will do little to improve the situation. In fact, it might be the death knell of the franchise.

well at @TURTLEEEEEE would you like to take @MajorBrendan place as the 6th fairy type gym leader if you do I can probably go back and dig through some old post and gather the whole story and discussions for you cause I’m not opposed to rebooting the gym challenge

I would love to! But is it tgc, or just a made up gym leader? I fits tgc, I cant do it. I don't have any tgc games!
