Pokemon TCG Live is a awful app after coming from Pocket

After getting into the TCG game after playing Pocket, new player to the game! When will Pokemon Company actually give this app a complete makeover, to a point where it's more inline with Pocket?

It'd be nice if the card games functioned more similarly to Pocket, in terms of UI interactions with the traditional PTCG rules. It's just so much easier to tap on cards, instead of having to drag them around on Live. And the damage counter system is much easier to understand on Pocket, in comparison to Live, how you're required to literally tap on the card in order to see the actual damage.

I'll never understand why they had to put these ugly creepy humans in too, they don't even feel like they match with official Pokemon artstyle at all. I'd prefer to have myself represented by my favorite card illustration image, as how it was in Pocket. I also dislike how the live emotes actually made the game feel toxic, on top of the enter/win messages being condescending.

I would however love to see Live being retired and replaced by a app much like Pocket but with full TCG rules/gameplay, for the sake of having clean standardization across the TCG.

Indeed TCG Live is a failed game, the only reason it hasn’t shutdown yet is because the antecessor game TCG Online created a huge player base that was already highly invested.

After limiting amount of purchases on pre-build deck , it just simply rejecting new player from playing the game, such a bad update

After playing the Pocket app, I agree that the UI/UX of Live could do with an overhaul. However, as someone who also plays the actual TCG IRL, Live is a pretty comparable experience to playing IRL. A lot of Live was built to mimic the IRC game as close as they can, and overhauling the game to be like Pocket would fully remove that. The two games are separate and meant for different groups. No need to make them identical. Live has some issues but honestly it's a pretty good app for the actual TCG.

    I fully agree with this.

TPC doesn't care about Live, and TPCi doesn't have the budget. Nothing will change.

If TPC decides to make a full TCG app, it will have micro transactions and won't transfer anything from this one. It'll likely be a better app but much harder for F2P.
