5 max from showcases and wonderpicks + 5 max from battles so a total of 10 for the daily limit.

Maybe they could increase it, but not that way.

In general there should just be more content to earn more hour glasses and wonder pick stamina. But right now we only have the 1 expansion set and as a company they don't want players collecting all the cards TOO quickly and potentially not playing the game afterwards until the next expansion. They want daily activity from users and participation in content. I am confident there will be more to do and card pulls to earn as the game developes. The game is still very new.
