What Pokemon Would You Guys Add To Kanto
Considering the fact that Pokemon is open world now, I've been thinking about what would change if Kanto got an open world game, so what Pocket Monsters would y'all add?

Why would they need to add Pokémon to Kanto? I'd like the evolutions (and babies) for Kanto Pokémon introduced later in the franchise to be added, but otherwise what's wrong with the original 151?
If they were to make a sequel to gen 1 (and gen 2, I guess, since both feature Kanto) I wouldn't mind them adding new species, but only ones that make sense for the environment and theming of the region. Avoid adding popular modern Pokémon simply because they are popular.

it’d kinda be interesting to take newer crazy Pokémon and give them a Kantonian form, which would make them more simple, classic looking.

Kanto Dex is devoid of Dark types, has One Steel type, One Ghost type and One Dragon type if you don’t count Kingdra. That’s partly why they created regional variants since Alolan Rattata, Grimer and Meowth = all Dark types. Alolan Marowak yields a bonus Ghost type while Alolan Exeggutor yields another Dragon. Alolan Sandshrew and Diglett yield two more Steel types so that combined with Baby/Future Evolutions introduced in Gen 2 and 4 respectively would round out the Dex quite nicely. They don’t need to add any new Pokémon other than regional variants like they did in Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee. I only had two gripes with those games: Catching(and that being tied to grinding XP) and the lack of Johto/Sinnoh Evolutions for Kanto Pokémon(Steelix, Scizor and Kingdra would have made those games).

The original 151 doesn't have any dark types and very few steel, dragon, and ghost types.
It also (in my opinion) doesn't have a lot of variety and, I think that it's Pokedex is rather limiting in terms of variety.
I think I would add all of the Johto Pokemon as well as some of the Hoenn and Paldea Pokemon since they really fit with the region.

I personally liked how rare and special the types dragon and ghost were.

If you allowed Kanto Pokémon evolutions from later games, Eevee could evolve into Umbreon. Not exactly a robust roster, but it wouldn't have no dark types.
Indeed, Dark was added in gen as a counter to the overwhelming strength of Psychic in gen 1, so obviously Kanto would lack them.
And if we were to get a modern, open world remake of Kanto, do you really want it to stack it with a bunch of Pokémon from other regions? If the game matched the Paldea Pokédex size of roughly 400 Pokémon, Kanto Pokémon would be in the minority. In Kanto.
Things are not merely defined and given character and identity by what is there. They are also defined by what is not there. It is not always strictly an improvement to add more of something. If you keep adding external elements to Kanto, eventually you dilute away what gave the region its identity and it just becomes generic Pokémon land, interchangeable with any other region.
Kanto lacked dark types and had a relatively small Pokédex compared to games even a generation later. But the Pokémon in that Pokédex made more if an impression on the franchise than the overwhelming majority of Pokémon added since.
If Kanto is going to change its Pokédex abd expand its roster, it should be done very carefully, and the list should be heavily curated.
