Bug with Alolan Vulpix VStar
I was playing a game against an opponent using Alolan Vulpix VStar. My opponent used the Snow Mirage attack. On the next turn I tried attacking with Mismagius (SIT 64) using the Eerie Voice attack which places 2 damage counters on each of my opponents pokemon. Because Mismagius has an ability, no damage counters were placed on the active Alolan Vulpix VStar or an Alolan Vulpix VStar on the bench. Damage counters were placed on the other benched pokemon as normal.
The issues:
- Damage should have gone on the benched Alolan Vulpix VStar because the Snow Mirage attack should only protect the active pokemon
- I could be wrong on this but wouldn't damage counters being placed still affect the active pokemon?

So I am not sure if Alolan Vulpix Vstar is working correctly.
I attacked with Snow Mirage 160 (This attack's damage isn't affected by any effects on your opponent's Active Pokémon. During your opponent's next turn, prevent all damage done to this Pokémon by attacks from Pokémon that have an Ability.)
But my opponent responded with an Eternatus Vmax Dread End 30x (This attack does 30 damage for each of your [D] Pokémon in play.) and even though the Eternatus Vmax has an ability it hit the Alolan Vulpix Vstar. Also as aside but I don't think should come into play is that there was a Wash Energy attached as well.
Should this attack done damage??
My only other thought is that Path to the Peak was in play but should Path affect the Alolan Vulpix this way??
I still read the that Snow Mirage should protect the Vulpix form any attacks that do damage from pokemon with an ability. Am I interpreting this incorrectly?

@Snorlax622736 It's because of Path. Path doesn't just make abilities unusable; it completely removes them. They're treated as if there's no ability printed on the card.

Thanks for the clarification. I reread Path and eventually figured it out.

@Snorlax622736 I looked it up, and I think I have the answer. Path to the Peak goes further than just stopping abilities from being used, it completely removes them. Take a look at Path to the Peak, and you'll see what I mean. This means that the Eternatus VMax didn't have it's ability, making it possible for it to do dam

Follow up question.
Alohan Vulpix Vstar attacks a Duraludon Vmax with Snow Mirage.
Should Snow Mirage protect the Vulpix from the Duraludon's Gmax Pulverization attack since Duraludon has an ability? Assume no stadiums or Parasols (or other tools) are in play.
