Hey, guys. I'm just wanting to know whether or not you think some Pokémon species will be retired from the Pokémon franchise due to various reasons, i.e. being unpopular, obscure and/or unheard of? Why? Please let me know, thanks.😉

I doubt they would do that to some of the Pokemon.

Tbh some pokedex entries have weird Pokemon "descriptions", but I can't think of any that would make sense to just retire the Pokemon species. Maybe they could change some of the descriptions but not retire the Pokemon itself.

They only remove Pokémon from the show if they're controversial (for example, the Porygon line and Jynx).

None are getting removed anytime soon because they are only controversial outside of the games, like Vaporeon, Gardevoir, and Lopunny. Three normal Pokemon that only are controversial if you want them to be.

Wasn't that essentially what happened with Dexit?

I would say that was more like a slimming of the available pokemon in Sword and Shield rather than a retiring from the franchise

Certain Pokémon have remained unobtainable since dexit. They are transfer only.
