Can you only get the shiny Meloetta on Pokemon Home mobile? Because I only have HOME on my switch, and I don't have a phone

    You can only get it on mobile since the Switch version of HOME doesn't have the Mystery Gift function.

    Online functionality used to be a free part of the game integrated into it. But now it is a subscription service on mobile devices developed by a different company. And even with the extra revenue and those burdens lifted from their shoulders, Game Freak cannot deliver a stable game.

    @Candy0_o Zoomer, please.

    @TURTLEEEEEE I feel you. Back when the Zeraora event happened, I only had the app on my Switch too. I was devastated, since this would have been my first shiny in my first Pokémon game.

    I got a phone (and the mobile app) 3 years later, and there in my boxes was my boy.

    The problem with this is that Pokémon wants downloads for their app, so they make it inaccessible to the average kid, even though that’s what they’re marketed towards. My parents didn’t get me a phone for ages.

    @Candy0_o I wasn't accusing you of being mean.

    I know we are moving beyond the era of physical media and non-portable bespoke devices, but do younger people these days really not know you can use a PC to browse the internet?
