Lag During Ranked Matches

Concerning my own experiences, the number of instances of lag during ranked matches appears to be much higher than the number of instances of lag during other types matches (concerning the matches that I played today, for example, there was lag only during the ranked matches that I played).

I should note that lag appears to occur even where Internet-speeds are high on my end.

I think that players should be given the option to abandon, without penalty, ranked matches during which there is lag because the lag is so severe in some instances that it's impossible to participate meaningfully in the relevant match.
