It's possible it could take place across multiple eras. The inciting incident of the last Legends game was time travel, remember.
But based on PLA, it will take place in the past.

Before I imagined it would take place in the future, but I think it will take place in the past, Maybe, not in the same past as Pokémon Legends Arceus, but maybe in a time after the Kalos war, and also, I imagine that the story will be about the Coexistence between people and Pokémon, and this redevelopment of Lumiose City would be in a post-war era, I thought about that possibility, Besides the Pokémon A in the game's logo also being the Pokémon that gave rise to Mega-Evolution, I'm quite excited for new news, and you, what do you think?

Although most of it looks like the future. My money's on the past during the time of steam engine 20th century. Especially Where the Lumiose City development take place. No sign of whether the Kalos war will take place also.

Would there even be a Pokéball factory in the past? Perhaps it will be established in this game.

I see it happening in the present. This could be an interesting game, showing the renovations of a city in real time. I feel like this game is getting us ready for a XY sequel with this game laying some of the foundation for it.
