Watch something or do something other than shiny hunting while you shiny hunt or you will lose all your sanity.

Also soft reset shiny hunts on the Switch are painful do not do them. You have to go to the home menu, close the game, open it again, then go through the title screen, and more.
On most of the previous consoles you just needed to press a bunch of buttons at once (or power off and power on on a device that did not have a home screen or really long loading things so it's not as tiring) to soft reset.
