Pokémon Story: Lost Hope - Prologue
"Sir, a member has gone rogue and has breached research zone 26."
It is 2:00 at night at the secret Team Flare Research Facility and a security guard just noticed an anomaly in the security cameras for research zone 26.
"I am not able to ID the member but he is making off with Test Subject 26"
"Yeah… Understood."
The guard hits a button and sirens ring, alerting everyone in the base of what is going on.
…
"Oh no, they caught on!"
The alarm is piercing my eardrums, but what is worse is it's piercing the dog's eardrums forcing it to wake. When I saw him for the first time I only got a glimpse of him from a security camera, he looked so miserable in that test tube that they keep him in and so low on energy. I couldn't stand to see him suffer like that, and now he won't even get to rest. He's awake and looks terrified, not just of the sirens but of me. I can tell in his eyes that there is nothing but fear, but what is worse is that there is no physical reaction. He must be that worn out that he can't even defend himself, what monsters could do this to a poor Pokémon!
"It's all gonna be okay."
I grab him and put him over my shoulders and make my way out, I am grabbing onto his black and green legs hoping he has enough energy to make it out of here. I keep running but two guards block my path.
"Put down the asset." Said the first grunt.
"What, so you can make it suffer?" I said with anger. "Look at it! It barely has enough energy to stay awake!"
"This is your final warning, put down the asset or we will have no choice but to use force." Said the second grunt.
I don't have any words, I reach for my Pokéballs and send out a Krok and Delphy.
"Please, help me out on this one."
Without another moment to waste they get into an escort formation.
…
The final grunt falls in the nearly endless waves of grunts.
"You're to weak to continue on Krok? Take this potion, maybe it'll help."
Out of nowhere a blast of fire smacks Krok senseless and knocks him out.
"Krok!"
I quickly return him to his Pokéball.
"How can these Pokémon be willingly helping out a traitor unless they were disloyal to begin with." Said a man with short, pitch black hair and a lavish white and red suit. "And a weak traitor too."
"Who are you!" I said in both shock and anger.
"Does that matter, the fact that I am an admin should be enough. Drop the high value asset this instant!"
"No!"
He snaps his fingers and the Armarouge next to him charges forward and battles the Delpfox. They battle it out and are on equal terms until the admin sends out four more Pokémon with a big smile on his face. Delphy doesn't stand a chance and gets knocked out in an instant. I drop to my knees and pull back Delphy, dropping the dog behind me.
"You did well, thank you."
The admin approaches, walking in a way that shows confidence.
"Your name." He said.
"Heh… does that matter?"
"Fine, we will trade, doesn't matter cause that will be the last name you hear. My name is Admin Mathias, how about yours?" He says with a smirk.
I stay silent, which lowers his smirk. He gets his Armarouge to yank me off my feet.
"I will not ask again, just humor me will you?" He said with a smile that can hold back a charging Tauros.
"Snow… Team Flare Grunt Snow." I said hesitantly.
"Well that wasn't too hard wasn't it? Now Snow, when you joined Team flare you swore an oath of loyalty, is that correct?"
"Yeah…"
"Do you know what happens to people who break that oath?"
"They are… dealt with…"
Mathias laughs with a laugh so loud that I bet everyone in the building can hear.
"You are indeed correct." He then comes close to me, I am not giving him any pleasure of showing fear. "This will be long and personal, specifically for what you tried to steal… I have to make an example out of you."
He backs off, but as he does so I notice the dog limping near me as if he knows I am trying to keep him safe.
"Garchomp, restrain the high value asset. No… everyone restrain the asset before he does something!"
Armarogus drops me in an instant and the Pokémon rush to the dog but the dog has a certain look in his eyes, like as if he has a lot of power to unleash. The moment one of the pawns touch the dog is when he unleashes that power. The dog releases a beam of energy blasting away the admin and his Pokémon. I get up and the dog is fast asleep, I run out of the facility and get in my car. There is no turning back so I drive as far as I could hoping the dog is alright. I have hope that the dog will make it.
"You did a good job out there, I really appreciate it… Hope."
