    I'm not sure I would chosen Bulbasaur against a different Legendary Bird, but I never liked Zapdos that much.

    I’m a bird guy, although I’m more partial to Moltres. Incidentally, I am on Team Zapdos in Pokémon GO though. Also Charizard is my favorite Gen 1 line, so that was more reason to go with Zapdos.
