I also don't like the idea of a Trainer forcing the opposing Pokemon to retreat. I believe this should be an ability or move exclusive to Pokémon.

I think exactly the opposit lol Boss Orders it's great, Guzma is fantastic, and Prime Catcher it's insane good.

Gusting makes the game more dynamic, unpredictable and strategic.

And Boss it's a supporter, you have to waste your turn supporter to use it, so it's not something broken or anything like that.

Sometimes you need a way to punish a player for overextending, putting all of their eggs in one basket and building up one unbeatable game piece.

Otherwise what is to stop a player from playing one strong Pokémon and making it impossible to beat over?

It's good game design. Don't like being screwed over by it? Make sure all of the alternatives on your bench present an equal threat, or at least don't over-invest in your active Pokémon.

It definitely hurts when you get hit by it and it ruins everything. But it feels good when you get to play it on your opponent, and destroy them. Also, think of all the toxic decks that might exist if we didn’t have Boss’s Orders.
