I'd like to clarify that Kanto isn't what I'd like it to be but what I'd expect since it's the most popular. I personally think Alola would be cool but it's not popular enough for that.

Sinnoh would make sense due to the fact that it's home to the distortion world. Hissui was in sinnoh as well so that could work.

I am sure OP will be very interested in the results of this poll they posted last year before leaving the forum forever.
At least this necrobump prompted actual discussion, though I don't quite understand the question. Do they mean which region makes sense for a crossover story with another universe or franchise?
Guess OP can't tell us.
Assuming that is the case, I would say Alola, because Ultra Wormholes to Ultra Space were already a feature of that story.
Failing that, possibly Kanto for its (now ironically dated) future technology theme or Paldea, which sort of has maybe time travel but not actually perhaps.
