Galarian Weezing vs Forest Seal Stone

What up gangstas

Scenario is:

I have Galarian Weezing in active slot.

Opponent attaches Forest Seal Stone to a benched pokemon, uses Star Alchemy to search out an escape rope, forces my Weezing out, draws 5 cards from Crobat V etc etc etc

Am I missing something? Shouldn't the Weezing's Neutralising Gas stop Star Alchemy from being activated? Is this intended or a bug?

Neutralizing Gas, Path to the Peak, etc. cause certain Pokémon to not have abilities under particular conditions.

This has no bearing on the Seal Stone series of cards and the way their abilities are processed, because these tools don't cause their holders to have the printed abilities in the first place. The Pokémon they are attached to may simply use the associated ability.

Ah thanks for clarifying that! It really confused me in-game but that makes total sense :)

Now to figure out how to play around it in the future lmao

    It is intended.

Galarian weezing removes abilities from the opponent's pokemon.

Forest seal stone allows the pokemon with the tool to use star alchemy. It doesn't give the ability to the pokemon, just allows it to use it.
