Legacy energy not working

during my last game once my Arcinine ex was knocked out my opponent was able to pick up 2 prize cards. However, my Arcinine ex had a legacy energy attached so this should not have been the case I believe. The attack used was gouging by roaring moon. I’m relatively new to the game, so could also be that I am misunderstanding something. Also have a screenshot of the battle log if this might help.

Always a good idea to include the battle log in any bug reports. You can get a printout of the whole battle from the post-match score screen. Have you checked to see if Temple of Sinnoh was on the field? That'll shut down Legacy Energy.

It's working as intended. Legacy Energy prize effect only triggers when the pokemon it’s attached to is ko’d by attack damage.

So cards like Sableye (Lost Mine), Dragapult (Phantom Dive’s 6 placed damage counters effect specifically), and Frenzied Gouging (Roaring Moon ex), nullify Legacy Energy’s effect! Another example includes the Legacy energy pokemon getting ko’d during Pokemon checkup from a status condition like Poison or burn.

The prize card reduction by Legacy Energy is only activated if you are knocked out by Damage. The Frenzied Gouging attack knocks you out as the effect of its attack. These 2 things are different, so no prize card reduction for your opponent.
