Yveltal - Amazing Destruction?

Hello!

I was playing against an opponent who had an Yveltal which used Amazing Destruction on my Alolan Vulpix VStar (which had a Wash Energy attached to it) but the instant K.O of the attack didn't trigger.

Is this because Amazing Destruction is considered an attack "effect" (which wash energy cards prevent) and not an actual attack (no damage counters are used) which is why it failed to hit my Vulpix?

Any advice would be appreciated thanks!

    This is a game glitch. You should give feedback on the bug page.

    Yes, instant KO effects do in fact count as "effects" for the purposes of things such as Big Parasol and Wash Energy. Generally speaking, anything that doesn't directly say "do damage" counts as an effect. Do note that "place X damage counters" is also an effect even though it results in damage, so that is also blocked by Wash Energy.

    @Bornin985 That's not a glitch

    You're correct, Amazing destruction Ko's as an effect, not as damage, cards like big parasol and wash water energy prevent the ko.

    @Bornin985 Stop letting your anger at the game get the best of you. You know the game well enough to know that the Amazing Destruction KO is, in fact, an effect and blocked by Wash Water Energy. That's the main reason that deck runs Wash actually.
