Garchomp EX Sonic Dive does 120 when discarding DTE

first happened when opponent's Mew discarded DTE to hit my bibarel and was thinking, "oof, dude's gonna be sad when it only deals 100". then it knocked out my bib and i was flabbergasted. so i went into some casual games to test if it was a Mew EX issue or Garchonmp EX issue

The Sonic Dive against Brute Bonnet was when the Brute Bonnet was on the bench

The Sonic Dive against Tsareena EX was when the Tsareena EX was in the active

It is odd to me that the format of the log is different based on whether the target is in the active vs on the bench. I assume it is to tell when an attack was hitting active vs bench

I believe that this is intended and the attack is supposed to do as the energy is discarded before dealing damage. Not 100% sure tho

Yes, it's because the energy is discarded first so it's debuff is not applied

This might be a bug, or @Nashedtators could be right and the reduction does not take place when discarding the energy.

Edit: yeah its a bug. Damage is (or should be) calculated first so it should be doing 100.

I would say the 120 is calculated once the energy is removed and so would stay at 120. This seems to be how other things are applied when each statement is it's each action.

I bet this is the same with radiant greninja too but never tried with dte
