The truth is that an Absol ex simply is not very good. If you really want to play it, then you can combine it with things such as dark patch and morpeko PAR to help you accelerate energy faster.

i don't mean this in a mean way, but I disagree with the statement that Absol is not very good. pair ir with cards that discards cards from your opponents hand and then attack with cursed slug. I just don't know any cards that do that. but I personally think that Absol is pretty good.

220 damage on a two-prizer (for a normal amount of energy) is not very good, unless you’re hitting it incredibly consistently or rapidly, or you have other cards in the deck to augment the situation (see: Miraidon (230 but same principle) and Iron Hands). I don’t want to rain on any parades here, but it’s the truth of the meta and power creep.

The first thing to establish is if you're planning to use this in official events or just casually?
If you're wanting to play competitively then I agree with the other comments that it's not a great card, hand disruption isn't very good in this game as there's so much draw power and consistency.
However if you're playing more casually I could take anlook at what cards may be able to work well with it and help come up with a deck.

I was browsing for some ideas as well for Absol ex. While I do think it's not the best competitively, I commend you Everblaze for seeing potential in something not meta based, heaven knows Charizard ex is played out. Btw to help you a little, Hand trimmer or Erin could help.
Pokemon is suppose to be a franchise that brings an enjoyable experiences. It doesn't always have to be competitive.

There are problems with the viability of Absol ex as a card. Its 1-Energy attack doesn't do anything substantial and its 3-Energy attack does poor damage for its cost. Regardless, Darkrai VSTAR + Dark Patch + Poke Stop could be a way to help accelerate Energy onto it. As for reducing the opponent's hand size, Iono is one option. Another option is an upcoming card in the next Twilight Masquerade set: Unfair Stamp, which reduces your opponent's hand to 2 cards.
Another route could be to look for cards that discard from your oppoent's hand. For example, Luxray V, Arbok ex, Scovillian ex, and the upcoming Luxray ex all have attacks that discard cards from the opponent's hand. Perhaps one of these Pokemon could be used to attack in the early game, and then Absol ex could be used to close out the late game with its 3-Energy attack?
