Why couldn't I switch my active pokemon

I just had a match where someone switched my active pokemon with a benched V, using Serena. I was about to switch back using switch cart, but the game wouldn't let me use it? I didn't read any of the cards saying I wasn't allowed to. The opponent had just attacked with Raikou V.

    Was your new active pokémon an evolved one? Switching cart only works when the active one is a basic
