@Hey_PIKMIN tempting but need I remind you that Pokemon Company are slowing down releases.

If rumours are to be believed, the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible. So I wonder if the next Pokémon games will be Switch games with enhanced features for the new console a la Gold and Silver.
Alternatively, they might be exclusive to the new console to try and push everyone to buy it. It will be sold under the guise of giving Pokémon the power it needs and maybe Gamefreak can reach the dizzy heights of a buttery smooth 17fps on a 2024 home console.

@clasingla not just preparing for new system but also trying to greatly improve on the quality of the game so the suggestions from @Hey_PIKMIN will never happen.

@Hey_PIKMIN This is the third time you posted your predictions, and your predictions wouldn't mean much when Pokemon day will come next Tuesday.

@Hey_PIKMIN All the same, it doesn't change the fact that 7 years worth of your predictions mean nothing once they put slowing down releases to immediate motion.

@Hey_PIKMIN I doubt any game company would release pokemon games every year.

@TheJeffers Maybe 2027, Maybe 2028. Regardless, More time for the company to make sure future pokemon titles get all the bugs worked out. and all that time mean the return for the anime voices for Pikachu and Eevee.

@Killua20 Which is why I make sure I get my facts straight from official news. Besides, Slowing down releases is good meaning focus on better quality, the return for the anime voices for Pikachu and Eevee, etc.

Based on 3ds and switch this would be my prediction list
2024 Legends Game
2025 Ilca Johto Game / Smash 6 Featuring at least 1 new Pokemon
2026 Kanto Port / Gen 10 / Detective Pikachu 2 (movie)
2027 Gen 10 DLC
2028 Mystery Dungeon (wishful thinking)
2029 Pokemon Gen 3 Remake
2030 Pokemon Legends Kalos
I doubt most of this will occur I just wanted to do this for fun

@MajorBrendan I was thinking some of these would be outsourced
2024 Legends Game 9 (Gamefreak)
2025 Johto Remake/Smash 6 (Ilca/Sora Inc)
2026 (30th anniversary) Kanto Port (eshop exclusive colour version of gen 1) Gen 10 Pokemon Detective Pikachu 2 (Gamefreak/Whoever made Detective Pikachu)
2027 Gen 10 DLC (Gamefreak)
2028 Mystery Dungeon 5 (outsourced)
2029 Gen 3 Remake (Ilca)
2030 Pokemon Legends Kalos (Gamefreak)
Gamefreak would overall in 7 years only work on 5 games one of which is an add on for another, and another one is a simple port that would only require a bit of editing Ilca has 2 projects some outsourced studio has 1 project and sora also has a project but they are already doing stuff so it's not an issue the directors of pikachu 2 have a project plus gamefreak would get an extra year between generations
Now let's Compare this to the switch's lineup
My prediction 5 mainline games
Switch 5 mainline games + a mainline 3ds game
My prediction 6 total
Switch 8 total
My prediction 4 new games 2 remakes
switch 6 new games 2 remakes
my prediction 1 new generation
switch 2 new generations
SO HAH!

Mainline: a possible Legends or Let's Go Johto (since Pokémon have made games from the same generation on different consoles before, and coincidentally it was Let's Go Kanto). Maybe Unova (remake or sequel) if they decide to make Johto first.
Spinoff: Mystery Dungeon (it feels like a PMD game will be announced soon, and they've rarely made two games on the same console), and maybe something new.

I think we would defiantly get: Gen 10+DLC, a remake and Gen 11+DLC
Other things we could get would maybe be: a Jhoto remake but with different mechanics (similar to how Gen 1 got LGP/LGE when the switch released), some kind of spinoff game (possible return of an old spinoff franchise) and maybe a legends game (But I don't think we will get one as the pokemon that comes after the 'Pokémon Legends' in the title is meant to be powerful and you can't get much more powerful than the Pokémon god).

My prediction is more likely than you think gamefreak may be slowing down releases I was fully aware of that which is why I gave them an extra year in between games S/V would’ve only needed a few more months in the oven before release which is why an extra year per generation works (I may have actually just given them an extra because of the anniversary and decided it works)
gamefreak works a total of 3 mainline games
gamefreak would port Gen 1
gamefreak would make dlc
ilca makes 2 games
whoever makes mystery dungeon makes 1 game
mr sakurai adds another Pokémon character to smash
detective Pikachu movie
i would also like to point out that gamefreak has a game every year and the specific statement you are referring to is just about them not about spin-offs and remakes
