This thread might not be what you expected but what are my favourite moments when I played the video games?

For me, it's that strong moment when two very powerful Pokemon are fighting and the Johto Trainer song is playing and that moment happens, where the HP is going down... down, STOPS. That moment is so epic to me.

Another moment that is my favourite is battling Swimmers above Sunnyshore City. That mix between the route and the beginning of the fight is so ooze.

Do any of you have any favourite moments from Pokemon like that

When I'm losing a battle desperately, and I pull out my final Pokemon (which is usually just the Regional Dog), and it's now a 1v2. My final Pokemon then NOT ONLY toughs out all of the shots, but then steals the win by moving faster.

How do I get in this situation? I dunno.

Why is it always the Regional Dog that pulls in clutch? Because they're man's best friend.

One of my favorite is when you catch all the legendary and mythical pokemon in the game and when the pokedex is complete. I'm not sure if this qualifies but one of the funniest things is when you through a basic pokeball at a mythical or legendary pokemon and it goes in after throwing 15-30 other balls that worked better (I have caught 2 Tapu Bulu this way)

If we are talking outside the games themselves, the Pokémania phenomenon was an amazing time. Everyone was so enthusiastic for the games and everything Pokémon and there was always something new to be discovered or revealed about the franchise.

Within the games, I think the initial reveal that Green had beaten the Elite Four and become the champion before you was a major twist and it was so satisfying to beat him. Finding and capturing Mewtwo was also a highlight. Attending an event and actually getting a Mew was another.

Shame the battery is almost certainly long dead in my old Red cartridge back home and all of that is long gone...

Speaking of dying batteries, outside gen 1, finding Red atop Mt. Silver and battling him was an amazing moment and a satisfying conclusion to the franchise.

But then it turned out the series was a global phenomenon and they kept making the..

Skating around Lumiose city will always feel magical. And I will always get at least a little lost and end up going through every plaza trying to find things.

And I really love that riding a bike doesn't change the music because the music is like if joy itself turned into a song and it will make me cry when XY remakes are released in 20 years or something if trailers or nostalgia aren't enough to make me do so.

Going into Area Zero was also magical, but in a different way. The place is probably the best looking in the game, and it has great music and mystery, and I will revisit it whenever I get bored while playing.

Some spoilers for the main story of SM/USUM, postgame of HGSS, and ending of BW1 below.

I also think going to Lusamine's other room felt creepy and memorable, it was the final, biggest "hint" that, yes, this woman is insane and abusive, and not just to her kids.

I also liked the final battle in HGSS, it felt so epic fighting the protagonist of the Kanto games, at the peak of the mountain you can only access if you become champion and obtain 16 badges, where the only other humans are Nurse Joy and I think the Camera guy too. It was also very hard to win, since he's overleveled and has a lot of good Pokémon.

N's castle is also one of my favourite moments, because THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD HOW IS IT THAT GOOD, and it's a really emotional moment, furthered by the fact that N has awakened a Legendary and beaten the champion, and you haven't done even one of those things until a few moments before the fight. But the fate of Unova and all Pokémon is going to be decided in the next battle, so you mustn't lose.
