The Current State of Live and Its Potential

Hi team, I really hope this comment reaches you.

Like all other players, we are fans of the franchise and we want the best for it, and everyone here was really happy with the initiative to renew the TCG franchise and be more accessible to everyone, playing on mobile and being able to craft the cards, that's amazing !

We know that bugs will be fixed, we have no doubt about that - all in time.

But I'm getting scared with the negative reception of the game itself, and please don't take this as criticism or frustration, just that the game really needs a better care in its visual aspect.

Recently Tricky Gym did a survey where almost 90% of their audience say they don't like the look of the game, and ok, that's just your audience and not players around the world, but let's be honest this is indicative you know?!

Most, or almost all of the people I have contact with are really worried and not especially excited about this current visual aspect.

Understand not as a request from a fan only, but for the future of the game, the franchise, for the history of tcg that Live could really be best friends.

Unfortunately the avatars aren't really good, so much so that it's a general wish to either be able to hide them or just use 2d art, designs that we already have on the cards.

The boards, as amazing as the animation is, it's all very raw, lifeless and pokémon is art, it's color, always!

If you just put a colored png in place of what we have today, with a more Pokémon look would be better, and just letting us customize with other images would be amazing folks...

Sorry for the rant, but this message is from the heart, we know your effort, but please understand that you can do much more!

The avatars need to be removed completely. I cannot believe how much effort they wasted on something that doesn't actually affect gameplay at all, except for in a negative way because they are so creepy so it makes me not want to play at all. Please, just remove them, or at least replace them with actual Pokemon characters from the Trainer cards.

I couldn’t agree more with you, and I sincerely hope that the Pokémon TCG Live dev team gives us a statement on this soon otherwise there may not be a player base left to play the game. You know there is seriously something wrong when the Pokémon content creators are speaking out about the current state of the game, not even just Andrew but several other large creators in the space.

Agreed. Why can't the avatars at least use the same artwork as trainers, or hire the same artists to give them a similar vibe to the rest of TCG and the Pokemon franchise in general. The avatars, and currently art of PTCGL in general, does not look or feel like a Pokemon product compared to TCG, the video games, or anime.

Andrew Mahone took a giant dump on PTCG Live, citing a bunch of folks dumping on the game and is inspiring a most brutal dumpfest. I have not seen very many positive reviews out there. Which means:

    A) Everybody is stupid and nobody appreciates good art.

    or

    B) People are passionate and want to see a better product.
