Tips to save the game, 2024 presents for players
I used to enjoy Pokemon Unite, but I uninstalled it 2 weeks ago cause the current state of the game is just embarrassing. Here we go with some tips that could save the game, even if I know that developers will never make those happen.
1) A NEW RANKING SYSTEM: let's be serious, right now Pokemon Unite is a joke of a MOBA. Anyone can easily reach the highest rank and players with a 41% win rate get paired with pro players like Cris Heroes. This game needs to reset the ranking system: delete bot games and let us grind more in the lower ranks: I don't want to reach master rank if I don't deserve it. I'm an 8000 games 56% win rate player, I don't want to carry any more exp. share Leafeon with his 300 games and 47% win rate in the highest rank. That's the most anti-meritocratic game I have ever played, it's just frustrating and I don't want to waste my time that way. A fair ranking system attracts new and old players who uninstalled the game. DO NOT PUT AT THE SAME LEVEL CASUAL PLAYERS, CASUAL/COMPETITIVE PLAYERS AND COMPETITIVE 5STACK PLAYERS. And of course, add draft mode in the highest ranks.
2) GIVE US REWARDS TO INCENTIVE US KEEP PLAYING: we got terrible rewards during the season and the events. When you reach Master 1600 (and literally anyone is able to do it) there is no reason to keep playing. If in season 14 I improve so much to end in the top 100 leaderboard, just give me a sticker that says "top 100 in season 14". Is it too difficult? Players want to be rewarded! I need a reason to keep playing! Legendary shiny skin could be an idea, don't you think?
3) DIFFERENT LEADERBOARDS FOR SOLO/DUO Q AND 5 STACKS: do I really need to explain this one? I play solo/duo q and it's literally impossible to end up in the top 100 at the end of the season, cause all the high-rated players just play 5 stacks. If you want to reward your consumers don't treat ranked as a joke, but reward meritocracy instead.
4) IMPROVE STANDARD MODE: no more bot matches. Incentive us to play standard matches, give us a reason to do it. Give us some prizes, a mission or something like that. I would love to play lane Cinderace in standard when I want to chill, that should be an important mode and you should give it some value.
5) BALANCE PATCHES: are you serious? Mime (4 months), Zacian (4 months), and now Mewtwo. Why do you want to humiliate us? Why do you just ask for our money without giving us back a good product? Balance is really bad in this game. Low-skill players get rewarded for playing broken Pokemon or point-and-click moves. Will you please act like you are managing a serious MOBA? Reward meritocracy and fairness. You are just losing your player base cause you are disrespecting us.
6) PUNISH AFK AND TROLL: I can reach the highest rank with a 42% win rate, troll the game because my teammates don't leave me jungle, and still don't get any punishment. How do you want to compete with Lol, Dota, etc.?
7) WEEKLY EVENTS: Give us reasons to keep playing. Tournaments, rewards that we can reach only during the weekend (not the Snorlax useless emblem).
8) MARKETING: you need to engage your player base. Pokemon Unite has a terrible reputation, we only play because the Pokemon brand is so strong and we grew up with these monsters. I have never seen an advertisement about Pokemon Unite on any social media. Also, your X, YouTube, and Twitch channels are dead. Involve content creators, and watch what SMITE's official Twitch channel is doing with their streamers. Be humble and learn from others.
I wrote down everything I'd love to see in Pokemon Unite in 2024, but I know that you'll never make a single point of this list happen, cause right now you just desperately need our money to keep the game alive without improving it. But it's going to die, everybody is leaving. Pokemon is the biggest brand in the world, you've got 1000 characters ready to release in the game without even thinking about any inspiration for a new monster.
But you chose mediocrity and I accept it. I understand that Timi doesn't want competition for LOL and just wants to gain money with a different type of casual MOBA.
So it's a goodbye, I'll come back when I see a different game management.
