Rare Candy/Exp Candy in Pokemon Violet

If you use the rare candies and/or exp candies on a Pokemon in Violet/Scarlet will the Pokemon still reach full potential on it's stats? In the old games, using rare candy would make your Pokemon have slightly lower stats in the end. Is that still true, or will two perfectly identical Pokemon in EV's, IV's, and natures have slightly different stats?

    Rare/Exp. candies just raise the level or experience of your Pokémon without the EV gain.

    It's always been like that, they never had other effects on your Pokémon.
