Leftovers, Assault vest and Rocky Helmet need buffs!
For too long they have hurt people who randomly get into a group with people picking these items.

Leftovers is fine being restricted to out of combat (and the timer for that is fine), if it gave in combat healing it’d simply become the most mandatory item in the game due to how much effective health it would grant.
I suggest leftovers has increased health regen (think double) and additionally it also increases the amount of healing you get from goal pads to give it some kind of in combat utility, albeit niche.
Remove the health regen stat on the item passively, just make it grant 450 health.
Assault Vest should work on both physical and special abilities, but still only special basic attacks. The shield should scale with a combination of max health and defences, to make defenders and tanky Pokémon get more utility from it as having an “omnishield” is very powerful.
Rocky Helmet should work like Bamis Cinder in LoL; when you use an ability you begin to radiate an aura that deals damage which scales with your health or defences (something like 2.5% of your maximum health over 2.5 secs, or 33% of your combined special defence and defence over 2.5 secs) and passively grants health and physical defence. The aura refreshes by 1 sec each time you take damage from enemies. This would make the item a good source of damage for tanks without feeling too dependent on taking high amounts of damage.

I fully agree, those are common items in comp so new people often get attracted to them

Leftovers being a very small low cooldown focus band would be cool. It would be able to provide more consistent healing at the cost of being much less than focus band. A potential other ability is it to be some sort of rescue hood on the receiving end of the heals, increasing incoming healing by a set amount, though this may be too powerful.
