If the Franchise started over with a Gen One game being released y'know what I would do?

Kanto has been done 3 times now over its 30 years(perhaps more if you include Kalos pandering in XY and Z-A). You got the base games everyone knows about, including the Yellow version that had heavy Animé influence. You have the Gen 3 remaster in FRLG that added in the Special split from Gen 2 and Abilities from Gen 3(along with movepool improvements) and then the Gen 7 Yellow remake with LGPE, both of which buffed the partner Pokemon because they realized that people like me who have played Yellow for over 25 years would dump that partner at the first opportunity.

If Kanto was to be redone(again), I'd do a reverse HGSS by having the Johto region be included after you beat the Kanto region. You'd face the Gym Leaders with improved rosters and have regional variants to bolster their particular Type specialty(Paldean Tauros for Chuck anyone?). Evolutions of every Kanto species would be permitted(hence Electivire and Magmortar for Electabuzz and Magmar respectively) and regional variants of every Kanto Pokemon(so Alolan, Galarian and Paldean). Might even include the new Gen 10 region while we are at it since I know Psyduck is getting one. Lance in the Kanto + Johto E4 would get Kingdra instead of Seadra because that was a disgrace in LGPE. Mega Evolution would be permitted too so Mega Dragonite for Lance 🙅

Defeating Team Rocket in Kanto isn't the end of the story. They try to reform in Johto and you have to put a stop to it once and for all and battling Ho-Oh and Lugia is based on which version you get. Mewtwo is post-Kanto too. Celebi and Mew would be obtainable as well because I'm not an event only douche like TPC.

Aside from that, it'd retain the LGPE style but the traditional wild encounters(so battling wild Pokémon matters).
