Should Winds&Waves have Voice Acting?
Above is Ocarina of Time over the years and the last one is the upcoming remake that adds Voice Acting to cutscenes that never had it before. My poll is relatively simple: Should Pokémon get it after 30+ years like Ocarina of Time did or will it remain an afterthought despite it adding a layer of immersion that frankly should be mandatory given what they'd charge for it.

Yes
Not really an option at this point. Gen 8 *should* have had it and why Gen 9 didn't get it despite Nemona being a prominent figure in the story(Ditto Penny and Arven), it just feels overdue. I mean can you imagine being the voice for Iono or having something behind the monotone Larry? I mean yeah the Animé picks up the slack but given these are expensive games to begin with... I think expectations need to be raised after 30+ years.

No
I feel like Masters EX has enough voice acting for me to not want it in the main series games.

Yes. Obviously.
It is embarrassing that (you know the line) the highest grossing media franchise in the world, bigger than Disney, cannot put voice acting in its flagship game series. Especially when they go to the trouble of animating it down to the lip flaps anyway.
It looks so bizarre.
Voice acting became the standard twenty years ago for the rest of the industry. Even franchises with traditionally silent protagonists like Zelda and Metroid have had voice acting for many years now.
What are we doing?
Have a separate voice volume slider with the option to mute them entirely for those who are still coping over this, but the next game cannot omit it.
There is no reason to vote no on this poll.

My feelings on it are complicated. With Pokémon distancing itself from how it used to be with the open worlds and the style of the 3D models looking less stylised and all the other ways Pokémon is changing, I think it'd make me feel like I'm playing a different game. But that's just my first thought, and I'd probably get used to it extremely quickly. I don't really want it, but I might like it, especially if they do it well.

Yes
I'm not reading what others said
I want it with certain criteria
Fully voiced, not just little sounds
Maybe not every piece of dialog (although I do want that) but at least all cutscenes
They need to actually talk during battle
We should get to choose how the MC sounds via options
If that's what they do then yes

I mean…
I do like the idea.
But if its going to be like Masters…
Their voices were VERY wrong to me. And…
I think it would be good if used in like cutscenes and stuff but NOT like them saying something random every time you talk to them I HATE that. And if they're going to do it, they need actually decent voice acting. Masters had many a voice actor that felt very… wrong for the character. And then so many other games I've run into with voice acting have had this weird monotone voice. Well… not monotone. Just… expressionless. Which, if anything, detracts from the charm. While playing Sonic Generations, there were SO many times when a character would say something and it felt… very very wrong, either from the words that were coming out of their mouth or the tone they used. Then comes the question of 'do we voice act the protagonist?' Probably not- they're a player, name to customization. They need to put their own voice in. But the protagonist is expressive in some of the games. Mainly in Z-A. One of my favorite parts was simply the charm behind the protagonist lines. It was more than 'yes' and 'no'. It was 'Let's do this!' and 'Wait a second!'.
I don't think I'll have an issue if they don't voice act. I would much rather- BY FAR- have no voice acting than jarring, toneless voice acting. I'm more concerned about pretty much every other aspect before that- New Pokemon, charm in the characters, interesting if simple plot (you're not going to get complex stories in games centered at kids!), Pokemon-player interactions, a well-made world, a fun and cool gimmick, smooth gameplay… Voice acting isn't high on the priority list. They've got probably 500 Pokemon to code into the game, with about 100 being new. I care more about that done well than hearing someone talk outside of my own head, where it's clear enough anyway.4 -
This is longer than I meant to…
