Gx/ex/v/EX do not count as copies of a non Gx/ex/v/EX pokemon in the deck. Some old mechanics like lv. X pokemon did count though

GX, EX, V, Radiant, Alolan, Galarian, Paldean, and ex all count as part of the Pokémon’s name. This means:
- You can play (for example) three charizard and three charizard ex in the same deck (you’ll still only be able to play 4 charmander, but doing this can help with consistency).
- If an attack says something along the lines of “This attack does 30 more damage for each of your Maushold in play” you won’t get a damage boost from any Maushold ex you have in play. It would have to say this for that to occur: “This attack does 30 more damage for each of your Maushold in play (including Maushold ex”.
