Gx/ex/v/EX do not count as copies of a non Gx/ex/v/EX pokemon in the deck. Some old mechanics like lv. X pokemon did count though

GX, EX, V, Radiant, Alolan, Galarian, Paldean, and ex all count as part of the Pokémon’s name. This means:

    1. You can play (for example) three charizard and three charizard ex in the same deck (you’ll still only be able to play 4 charmander, but doing this can help with consistency).
    2. If an attack says something along the lines of “This attack does 30 more damage for each of your Maushold in play” you won’t get a damage boost from any Maushold ex you have in play. It would have to say this for that to occur: “This attack does 30 more damage for each of your Maushold in play (including Maushold ex”.
